Terms of Service
Last updated: June 21, 2026
Welcome to TranscribeYouTube. By accessing or using this website (the “Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use the Service.
1. What the Service Does
TranscribeYouTube is a free tool that fetches publicly available caption data from YouTube videos and presents it to you as a readable, searchable, and downloadable transcript. We do not host, store, or redistribute video files, and we do not generate captions ourselves — we retrieve captions that already exist on a video (either uploaded by the creator or auto-generated by YouTube).
2. Acceptable Use
You agree to use the Service lawfully and responsibly. You specifically agree that you will not:
- Use the Service to infringe the copyright or other rights of any content owner.
- Republish or distribute transcript content in a way that violates the rights of the original video creator.
- Attempt to overload, disrupt, or reverse-engineer the Service, or bypass our rate limits.
- Use automated scraping against the Service outside of our documented API and any limits described there.
- Use the Service for any unlawful, harmful, or fraudulent purpose.
3. Intellectual Property & Content Ownership
Transcripts produced by the Service are derived from captions that belong to the original video creator and/or YouTube. We claim no ownership over that content. You are responsible for ensuring you have the right to use any transcript you extract — for example, fair-use quoting, study, research, accessibility, or content you own. The TranscribeYouTube name, design, and original written content on this site (such as our guides and blog articles) remain our property.
4. No Account, No Stored Data
The Service does not require registration. Transcripts are fetched in real time and are not stored on our servers after your request completes. For details on what we process, see our Privacy Policy.
5. Availability & Changes
The Service is provided on an “as is” and “as available” basis. Because we rely on publicly available YouTube data, extraction may occasionally fail for specific videos (for example, videos with no captions, region restrictions, or temporary rate limiting by YouTube). We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time without notice.
6. Disclaimer of Warranties
We do not warrant that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that transcripts will be complete or perfectly accurate. Auto-generated captions in particular can contain mistakes. You use any transcript at your own discretion and should verify accuracy where it matters.
7. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, TranscribeYouTube and its operators shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service — including any reliance on the accuracy of a transcript.
8. Third-Party Services
The Service relies on and links to third-party services, including YouTube, Google Analytics, and Google AdSense. Your use of those services is governed by their own terms and policies.
9. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms. The “Last updated” date above reflects the most recent version.
